He was founder and CTO of Tripwire for 13 years and has worked with some of the top Internet companies on improving deployment flow and increasing the rigor around IT operational processes. In 2007, ComputerWorld added Gene to the "40 Innovative IT People Under The Age Of 40" list, and was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Department of Computer Sciences at Purdue University. Cela dit, je trouve que le format est bien adapté pour faire passer le message et amener à comprendre "DevOps" (ou la livraison en continu), l'espace de problème de ce livre. Il décrit assez bien une situation de départ en "mode pompier" (situation connue de beaucoup de responsables informatiques), et comment - en changeant la culture de l'entreprise (équipes de développement, équipes des opérations, clients internes) - la direction informatique peut améliorer la bande passante utile pour les projets informatiques importants de l'entreprise.Si vous êtes dans le domaine informatique, vous reconnaîtrez les situations et pourrez certainement retrouver votre propre "Brent" (le développeur héro), "Bill" (responsable du département IT, nouvellement promu) ou "John" (responsable de la sécurité) - les personnages principaux de ce livre. Ainsi que les différentes situations: soirées ou weekend à déployer des changements sur les systèmes, des erreurs de déploiement et autre soucis de données corrompues.Si vous n'êtes pas dans le domaine informatique, mais que vous avez un proche qui l'est - ce livre vous permettra peut-être enfin de comprendre ce qu'il ou elle fait pendant ces longues soirées ou week-end !Ce livre est devenu une référence dans le domaine - avec de plus en plus de professionnels qui y font référence dans leurs discours et présentations.Je recommande donc ce livre pour les professionnels de l'informatique, ainsi que pour leur connaissances.
